Cabo Fish Taco

The popular Southern Californian combination of seafood and Mexican cuisine is sneaking its way into Charlotte with Cabo Fish Taco, in the hip area of NoDa . The restaurant and bar serves up “Inspired Southwest Cuisine with a Coastal Twist,” and the establishment is always filled with NoDa’s eclectic residents and visitors.

NoDa, the term used to describe a revitalized urban area of North Davidson Street, has plenty of choices for food and drink, but Cabo Fish Taco serves up an array of dishes that cater to a different taste.

The restaurant’s signature item, and namesake, are fish tacos. Diners can order the tacos filled with different types of seafood like beer battered white fish, shrimp, blackened Mahi-Mahi, lemon grilled tuna, tomatillo salmon, or tavarua tuna.

For those who are not big seafood eaters, the restaurant also serves up chicken, carne asada and steak. You get two tacos with every order — stuffed with cabbage, tomato, avocado, cheese and white cilantro sauce — and a side of either beans, baja rice, Mexi-slaw, side salad, or jalapeno & cheese mashers, an incredible combination of mashed potatoes littered with the spicy pepper.

Cabo Fish Taco also serves up large burritos and wraps, filled with the same types of items mentioned before, as well as their featured entrees called “Big Swells.” Some of the “Big Swells” are Tuna Rancheros, Rasta Pasta and Roasted Jalapeno Salmon.

Tacos run $8 to $9.25, burritos are $7 to $9.50 and “Big Swells” run $12 to $16.

HelloMetro Tip: There is not onsite parking for Cabo Fish Taco. Park a few blocks away on the street and walk to the restaurant to feel more like a NoDa resident.
