Dilworth Neighborhood Grille: The most centralized bar and restaurant in Charlotte

May 13, 2010

The Dilworth Neighborhood Grille opened in the Queen City in 2004, and has become a very popular hangout for residents of Charlotte that live and work near Uptown, but not necessarily in Uptown.

In the Historic area of Dilworth, less than a mile south of Uptown's business and entertainment district, the Neighborhood Grille caters to those who don’t want to deal with the crowded restaurants and bars inside of loop I-277. The convenience and central location make it a very popular meet-up spot for friends and co-workers.

When looking at the Charlotte region on a map, Dilworth Neighborhood Grille is located in the dead center, at the intersection of East Morehead Street and South McDowell Street.

The grille specializes in American traditional diner and bar food and serves up large sandwiches, wraps, salads and entrees. Appetizers like the Kingston Crab Cakes or Cavalaris Buffalo Blue Homemade Potato Chips run $5 to $10; sandwiches and wraps, including a ½ pound burger and a Carolina Club, run $8 to $10; and full entrees like homemade meatloaf, shrimp and grits or steak kabobs run $10 to $14.

The bar is stocked with a ton of local, domestic and imported draft and bottle beer, and the bar continually offers specials to go along with trivia nights, a Monday night backgammon tournament and live music on Thursday nights.

Dilworth Neighborhood Grille serves breakfast and brunch on the weekends and is open until 2 am every single day of the week.

HelloCharlotte Tip: The parking lot is very small, and a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant is known to tow cars. You may need to find a spot on a nearby street and walk one or two blocks to the restaurant.
