Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery: The only "Brew Pub" in Charlotte
May 10, 2010
Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery is the only “Brew Pub” in Charlotte, and its location in the heart of Uptown make this a beer-drinker’s paradise for those visiting the Queen City or for those looking for an after work bite to eat.
Although it shares the same name as the national chain, Rock Bottom, the location in Charlotte is individually owned and is no longer affiliated with the larger chain.
Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery brews at least six beers at all times — in six very different styles — just a few feet away from the bar. The establishment doesn’t just brew beer though; they brew award-winning beer — as is obvious from the dozens of medals hanging above the bar.
For those who visit the “Brew Pub” for the first time, a beer sampler — all of their homemade beers in four-ounce glasses — is recommended for $6. This way any beer lover can try our every different style. The bar also sells the homemade brews in a take-home “Growler.” The restaurant also features a full bar with wine and spirits as well.
The “Brew Pub” isn’t just known for their beer though. The menu is expansive and the restaurant serves up everything from stone-grilled pizza, steak, fish tacos, ribs, seafood and more. The menu truly has something for everyone. Large appetizers are $8 - $11, pizza is $10 - $11, steak and seafood is $17 - $24 and main dishes are $12 - $20.
The restaurant has a private dining area for groups of 20 or more, and also offers catering services. Rock Bottom also has two outside eating areas, and on warm days they are filled with visitors and regulars of Uptown.
