Mimosa Grill: Upscale Elegance in Charlotte
Jan 7, 2010
Annually award-winning since 1995, Charlotte's Mimosa Grill is one of the most elegant eateries in the city's restaurant scene. Featuring "global cuisine with a unique southern twist", Mimosa Grill's menu is versatile and surprisingly familiar with exotic accents.
Executive Chef at Mimosa is John Fortes, whose goal is to take guests as close to the "farm-to-fork" mentality as he can get them. Many of Mimosa's ingredients are locally-grown or raised, making Mimosa's food some of the freshest in the area.
Mimosa is crisp, modern and perhaps even a bit eclectic. The atmosphere is electrifying-- rich tapestry and soft music make it the perfect place for a dinner date or business lunch.
Start off your Mimosa experience with one of the eatery's delicious starters. The local fried green tomatoes with sweet corn chow and remoulade; pan-roasted Pei mussels with garlic, tomatoes, white wine and herbs; and the stuffed Georgia hushpuppies with rock shrimp, crawfish and creamed leeks are all excellent options.
A selection from the artisan cheese menu is also a great choice. Try the Tomme cheddar or the Sandy Creek goat cheese-- you won't be disappointed.
For your main course, try the pecan-crusted Snake River trout with peach chutney, baby green beans and whipped potatoes; Faroe Island Scottish salmon with low-country lobster and crawfish boil, grits and peasant bread; hickory grilled beef tenderloin with creme fraiche potatoes and asparagus; wood fired Niman Ranch lamb chops with butternut squash risotto and rosemary mint gremolata; or the cider braised North Carolina pork with mushroom mac & cheese and collards. All bring together familiar local cusine with exotic accents.
Business dress is required at Mimosa, as are reservations (on weekends). To make reservations, call (704) 343-0700.
